Up and Running

As evidenced by the new digs, things are up and running on this new version of the site! Slowly, but surely, the pieces are coming together...there's still much to do. I still have to tackle the old image gallery issue and everyone who has material in there. There are over 6,000 images packed into that gallery, so it's no small task to get all of that information pulled over. The most feasible scenario at this point is to simply leave the old gallery up and running, but not allowing further uploads to it...instead directing new accounts/uploads to the new gallery. We'll see...

Up to no good again

Well, here we go again...yet another go at tweaking the Burningfiles.com website! I have no particular reason for doing so, but I do find it entertaining to play with. So what are we going to accomplish with this new version...hopefully? Hmm, well, the big thing is the old gallery. It uses a deprecated plugin from Xoops and somehow, I'd love to pull all that data into a brand new gallery system that's more up to date and easy to use/understand. Will it be easy? No. Will it happen overnight? No. Will it involve current old gallery users needing to take action? Probably.

I'm just starting to get things configured, so it'll probably be a bit before anything happens, but when it's time, you'll know. :)

Updates

Gee whiz, it's been A LONG time since I posted an update here! Seems like Facebook and normal life have taken up a lot of time...but I think I'm going to tinker with this site again! I'm thinking about ditching this format and going to Drupal or something along those lines. Ideally, I'm still looking at some way to get the old gallery system imported into a newer, more feature-rich system...that's way easier said than done, but who knows. Anyway, I'm glad to see that folks are still using the gallery. :) Not too much going on around here, just working and developing new stores...that sort of thing. No time for gaming, although I've managed to slip some time in for SSM2007 (Space Shuttle Mission simulator)...that's an incredible sim (it's most definitely not a game).
