Weekend Observations

Well, this weekend signaled the real start of the NFL season, the Italian Grand Prix, and some other things; there a few things I noticed. Jake Delhomme and the Panthers pretty much suck; guess the crappy pre-season they had pointed to the disaster we watched yesterday. Seems like they should've replaced Jake a few years back, but anyway. A little north of Charlotte, we have Chicago and the Bears. Jay Cutler looked completely out of place and pretty shaky; however, the Bear's receiving corps needs to clean the butter off their fingers and learn how to stay vertical...that would go a long way towards helping them out. The only other notable thing was the miracle catch by Brandon Stokely and the Broncos...go Broncos! Overall, it was a pretty good NFL Sunday except for the Fox robot and Jay Leno ads.

Formula 1 held the Italian Grand Prix this past weekend...what a race! Pretty exciting with Force India getting into shape and Red Bull faltering. Lewis Hamilton nearly caught Jensen Button, but had a date with the wall on the final lap...looked like a bell ringer for sure. Looks like Jensen and Rubens will be the ones duking it out up until the end this year...that's going to be great to watch. Congrats to Fisichella for having a respectable first race in the Ferrari after having come from Force India.

I think NASCAR had a race, but who cares, the Italian GP2 race was far more exciting on a rain-slickened track.

Tiger Woods kicked some serious butt and Serena showed her true colors.

If you think I didn't get out of the house much this weekend, you might be right.
