A Car Show for the Ages
Well, today I don’t have any grandiose prose or wisdom to share, but since it’s been a little while since I posted anything, I thought I’d better get something up here before it got too stale, lol. Monday nights are always good for television on cable...or Directv in my case. No, I don’t watch any network TV; there’s a plethora of good stuff on my favorite channels like BBCA, Discovery, etc. Perhaps my all-time favorite is the British car show, Top Gear. If you’ve never watched this show, you’re really missing out. It airs on BBC America here in the States, but you can also find copious amounts of clips on YouTube as it’s purported to be one of the most pirated TV shows out there, lol. Now I’ve been a longtime fan of British Comedy having been raised on PBS and Monty Python’s Flying Circus, so I can easily appreciate the gems on Top Gear...it’s a truly fantastic show...a combination of super hot cars, interesting host challenges, and great laughs. They feature just about any car you can think of, from Formula 1 masterpieces to bargain bin Korean people boxes, with the appropriate amount of praise or slamming given to each. Heck, one year, one of the hosts nearly lost his life in a horrific jet car crash...it really is a great show. So if you ever get bored of the typical network TV garbage, head on over to the BBC channel at 8 or 9 in the evening and prepare to enjoy a great ride.
