A little later in my career, I moved onto F/A-18's and a new squadron (VMFAT-101). At this point, I was a shift leader and co-flight deck controller for our squadron. I'm wearing the radio and holding a flight sheet while one of my crew stands by with his chains. We're behind the jet blast deflectors here. We're on the USS Nimitz here, a regular stop for our squadron while our new pilots got their carrier qualifications.
