Office Observations, PC vs. Mac

No, this is not a story about the age-old battle of PC vs. Mac, but rather a simple observation about transitioning from old equipment to new when Macs and PC's are involved. The week before last, our boss decided it was time to upgrade our office equipment. Our office is all PC, but for the past year, I'd been using my personal MacBook. With that in mind, my boss gave me the option of getting a shiny new 21.5" iMac...an option he also gave the rest of the office.

Apple OS X Snow Leopard

Unless you live under a rock, disconnected from the rest of the world, or you're a devout PC lover, blind to any and all alternatives to the Windows world, Apple officially released OS X Snow Leopard today. Apple OSX Snow Leopard Hits the Streets Today!FedEx delivered my copy of the family edition right on time today.

Handy Tip for Mac iChat users!

I'm not a huge Instant Messaging person, but when I do happen to get online, I prefer to use my Mac's built-in iChat application. It's clean, works great, and is fully integrated with mail and my address book. The only problem is that iChat only supports it's own protocol along with AIM's, and Jabber's. Using a Jabber account, I could get myself into my MSN account, but it was a huge pain in the ass to setup. I'd never been able to find a Jabber server that had Yahoo! transports. So, I just kinda passed on it.

Average Guy’s Review - AppleTV

My Apple TVMy Apple TVUnless you haven’t been paying attention, I’ve been stung by the Apple bug in a serious way, lol. It all started with my little ole iPhone then it moved to the MacBook, then to the Airport Extreme, and now to the AppleTV! I can’t completely fault the iPhone, although stepping into the Apple universe does tend to arouse curiosity about all things Apple once you get a small taste.

My Mac

My Mac's ScreenMy Mac's ScreenWell, as you know, I’ve had my iPhone for quite awhile and I absolutely adore it. What I didn’t know was that it was going to be my “feeder drug” into the world of OSX Leopard and a MacBook. Up until November of last year, I’d always been a Windows user with a liberal sprinkling of Linux here and there - I had 2 hard drives for my Dell XPS laptop, one with XP and one with Ubuntu Linux.

iPhone and Me

iPhone and MeiPhone and MeWell, I’ve had my iPhone for quite awhile now and I think I could call myself qualified to talk about my experience with it. It IS the best cell phone I have ever owned and I don’t think I’ll ever get away from it! I love gadgets, but it still took me watching my buddy, Britt pick one up before I swallowed hard and laid down the $399 it cost to pick one up.
